We can’t wait to work with you.

Meet Zishan Chaudry and Maryam Mahmood: professional grant writers, experienced program planners, and published authors in academic journals. We’re also husband and wife, which means dinner conversations often revolve around line items in your latest budget. We are both passionate about working with non-profit organizations and Indigenous communities, with experience living and working on-reserve in British Columbia and Ontario. We work with organizations serving a variety of vulnerable and marginalized populations, including seniors, at-risk youth, and newcomers/refugees.

ZISHAN is a medical doctor by training and graduated with his Master of Public Health from Lakehead University in 2019. Zishan has worked in First Nations communities as well as in the private and public sector. He is currently employed in the non-profit healthcare sector. When he isn’t working, Zishan watches and plays soccer and basketball, or hangs out with the family.

MARYAM is an Ontario and British Columbia Certified Teacher with a Masters of Science in Ecology from the University of Toronto. She successfully applied for the competitive NSERC Post-Graduate Scholarship (which has a 28% acceptance rate) while doing her PhD and is an experienced proposal writer. Maryam is an avid Raptors fan and may be reluctant to work with fans of any other team.

We regularly bounce grant ideas off our baby girl, Future Grant Writer Chaudry, who expresses approval or disgust through a spectacular array of gurgles.

Sadly, Toddler Chaudry has decided his blocks and trains take precedence over any brainstorming sessions. We understand and wish him well in his future endeavours.
